Two internal departments provide Asset Management services to Baird’s clients:
Baird Advisors
Baird Advisors is our institutional fixed income investment management team. Baird Advisors' structured fixed income management style employs a disciplined process of measuring and controlling bond market risks to generate consistent and competitive fixed income returns.
Baird Investment Management (BIM)
BIM manages customized portfolios for high-net-worth individuals, trusts and institutional clients. BIM's investment approach emphasizes in-depth research to uncover high quality growth securities for long-term investment. We have been extremely fortunate in attracting outstanding individuals with diverse backgrounds and extensive investment experience, which include areas such as defined-benefit and defined-contribution employee benefit plans, foundations, endowments, corporate working-capital programs and a wide variety of personal and family trusts.
Careers within these teams include:
Investment Analyst
Investment Analysts have varied and comprehensive responsibilities, which are focused on investment analysis and buy-side portfolio recommendations. We look for portfolio analysis, asset/liability analysis and investment-management style analysis experience in the candidates we consider.
As an Investment Analyst, responsibilities include:
Investment analysis of portfolios for private investors and institutional clients, including asset allocation studies and portfolio recommendations
Investment manager research and on going due diligence, with some travel required
Portfolio Manager
Portfolio Managers construct and manage portfolios consistent with the investment objectives, time horizon and risk tolerance of the particular client, while working within the firm’s investment philosophy. Portfolio managers are active in new business development, and are energetic and effective communicators of the firm's philosophy, strategies, methods and advice.
Our portfolio managers have at least five years experience in managing portfolios and, preferably, a research background. An MBA or CFA designation is required.
